So just say no to couponing and don't do it. Don't buy the crap that doesn't nourish your mind and body. There's nothing in there but chemicals. That's why they sell it to you for next to nothing. It's not food. Nobody planted it, grew it, or harvested it. If it doesn't have a mother or come from the ground don't eat it. Period.
Do you really need 20 boxes of brownies?

But what if I'm just gonna feed it to my kids, tho?
Amen! I remember buying 30 boxes of cake mix a couple of years ago, thinking it was so great that they were only 20 cents each! Or the cereal for 25 cents a box! You are right. It is processed crap. We would be healthier and wealthier to just cook up a bowl of hot oatmeal.
That box of cereal just doesn't seem like such a bargain anymore, when I think of the long term effects.
yeah. i don't get it. people who are like "Yay! look at me! I just bought a hundred pounds of useless crap for really cheap! hooray for me!" I didn't even know what "couponing" was until someone bragged about it, and I was like Huh? why?
And I used to be one of those people?!
George Carlin says it best, "McDonald's breakfast for under a dollar is actually more expensive than that. You have to factor in the cost of bypass surgery."
I hear people raving about their couponing deals too and I think... you're just buying processed junk! I try to shop the perimeter of the store and steer clear of a lot of processed stuff at the commissary. It's hard to shop on the economy around here because of the exchange rate and not knowing the language. I want to make more changes once we get back to the states when I can find organic foods easier. Have you read the book "Diet Decisions for Latter-day Saints?" It is eye opening as well. Probably the same things you've read in your books. LOVE the effort you are making to keep your family healthy and OBEY the word of wisdom. That's another tangent. Loves!
Nancy, I've never heard of that book. I will have to check it out. Have you heard of the book, Chocolate Never Faileth?"

Don't all those words sound sinful?
Aw, the Word of Wisdom. You have opened a can of worm with that one my friend. I will definitely be going off on that one of these days. Also, the Bishop's Storehouse will be a post one of these days as well.
